As a IT Specialist you work with a wide variety of assignments and collaborate with multiple parts of the world wide operations. Your primary day-to-day focus will be making sure the local IT environment in the Brussels office is running smoothly and without a hitch. You will be responsible for the continuous operations of the facility and the security of the data (against disasters/hardware failure and spying). The facility is around 50 workstation, 50 renderfarm computer , 10 servers and a cloud extension. While the setup is a straightforward solution, the impact on the production teams should anything fail is major. This role is for someone with outstanding customer service skills as our employees have great varying degrees of general it-related knowledge but are heavily dependant on IT as their main tool for production. All employees are your customer.

From a technical perspective, we’re looking for someone not unfamiliar with the basics around a server room and can configure a local NAS storage solutions. You are very hands-on and focused on maintaining a secure environment and take pride in a well organized and documented IT-environment. Candidate should be able to craft solutions on-the-fly that can meet budgetary and time constraints. You will also be able to rely on external specialist for specific technical tasks like programming a Cisco router for instance.

Post-Production implies well oiled data and work pipeline. It is an ever evolving environment, for the moment mainly based on Python scripts / Shotgun and DeadLine softwares.

You will be reshaping the pipeline by exchanging ideas and getting feedbacks from the Visual Effects Compositors and 3D Graphic Designer.

This is a full-time one person job with responsibility. The tasks are currently done part-time by several persons, so there will be a transitional “hand-over” period.

Main Work Tasks:

Management of the IT infrastructure
Python Scripting for Post-Production pipeline
traditional IT Support and support for the post-production pipeline tools
Servers and Virtual Servers configuration and cloud deployment ( file servers, back-up servers, license servers, rendermanager server,… )
Access right management / IT security
Workstation configurations / cloning
Network configuration/optimisation
Backup/ Archiving strategy and implementation
Hardware/software acquisition
Brief and document procedures for the back-up IT person.
You have a minimum of 3 years of working experience in Post-Production / 3D Animation as an IT. Furthermore you have experience from maintaining a server room, servicing PC’s and hardware and your ability to use a variety of open source technologies is good. Your communication skills in French are excellent since this is the working language and you are used to conveying technical information to non-technical users.

To be successful in this position you have:

Good Knowledge of Windows / Linux / MacOS X operating systems, ISILON ONEFS and ZFS is a plus
Good scripting skills in Python / linux shell scripts
Knowledge of Versioning tools like GIT or Mercurial
Good knowledge of VMWare , virtual machine image creation and cloud deployment like AZURE.
Good knowledge of high-end LAN Networking ( Multiple 10Gb/s switches and 1Gb/s interconnect, DHCP, DNS, WINS )
Knowledge of scripting for Post-Production tools like Shotgun, DeadLine, Nuke and Maya
IT Security experience is a plus
Fluent in French and English
